It is with so much joy that I let my loved ones in on the journey that God has placed before me. So to bring you back to the beginning of these little stirrings in my heart, journey with me to my sophomore year at Texas A&M University (WHOOP!!). I was in a World Geography class where I learned about this nation, and my heart truly broke. I was hearing about the corrupt leadership, the poverty, the physical manifestation of the oppression over these people and the utter darkness.
Since that time, I have had this place put on my heart to pray for these people often, that the light of Jesus would shine on them and invade the darkness. I started watching documentaries, reading articles and ingesting all that I could find about this place. These stirrings only got stronger as I learned more and prayed for this place.
It truly never crossed my mind to actually physically go there. However, recently, an opportunity has been presented for me to visit this country with a few others, and it has been amazing to see God continually swing wide the doors to go. I heard Him clearly tell me to keep walking in this direction, and here I am today!
The verse that He has given me to declare over this place is Matthew 4:16, "The people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, a light has dawned." Pray with me that the light of Jesus would dawn on this place.
